I was born in the proverbial trunk of an English theatrical family. My father was a well-known classical actor and my mother a dancer in the West End Theater. Both my maternal grandparents were Opera singers. A dancer, singer and actress myself, I willingly gave up my career to raise a family, but always needed a creative outlet. As my children grew my childhood dream of owning a horse became a reality. I became a competitive dressage rider (ballet on four legs), and started photographing my friends and their mounts at horse shows. The magic of seeing a print develop in the darkroom caught my imagination and inspired me to learn and explore what more I could do with a camera. My new passion expanded into studio portrait photography and later into nature photography.
I love being in the countryside, not only photographing the beauty and grandeur of nature but also those small intimate moments that tell the story of a time and place. Composing a shot is like setting the stage, then one only has to patiently wait for the light and the drama to occur.
