The textures in this place are amazing, and omnipresent. Shot with the Tamron 17-50mm lens (at 17mm).
green & orange flower

green & orange flower

The wind was strong and steady, blowing this little flower in and out of the frame. But eventually there was 1/320th of a second when the subject was still enough to photograph. Shot with the Tamron 180mm macro lens.

I came across a workshop participant who had both hands on this sea star, foot braced against the stone, trying with all his might to pull the little guy off his rock. After I convinced him there was really no need for that, we shot a few frames, then left the gorgeous creature alone.

A detail found literally at my feet on the beach of a little cove. Photographed with the Tamron 17-50mm lens.

If I knew anything about geology, I might have something intelligent to say about these rocks. But I don't. So I tried to say something at least a little artistic with my camera, the Tamron 28-75mm lens, and Nik Silver Efex Pro software.

Point Lobos State Natural Reserve has been called "the greatest meeting of land and water in the world". I've been fortunate enough to lead a couple of Tamron-sponsored workshops in this area, located on the central California coast near Carmel.
