this costa rica artisan works with molten glass. he's putting legs on a small sea turtle he's working on. living sea turtles lay their eggs on beaches near here. the artisan sells his glass turtles to tourists.

<p><p><p>our guide pulled our boat into the shallows. he then slapped the water with his hand while holding a piece of chicken. a crocodile appeared. our guide kept moving to shore until the croc rose up on land and opened his mouth. our guide dropped a piece of chicken into the wide jaws. note the great egret on shore></p></p></p>

this is the lava covered side of arenal volcano. we spent several nights on the other side of the volcano. the cloud is water vapor and sulfur fumes.
