Windsurfer

Windsurfer

The wind was howling and the ski looked ominous, perfect conditions for this windsurfer. I had never really seen so many windsurfers in one place. But this area in Ireland was it. Based on his full wetsuit the water was probably icy cold. Summer in Ireland - love it!
Sheep

Sheep

The land is full of sheep. Ranchers paint them in certain colors to tell them apart. I thought they were lucky charms!
Ireland

Ireland

The weather is always so unpredictable in Ireland, but this was one of those beautiful days!
Land Poisoned

Land Poisoned

Posted: Land Poisoned. So are the streams. Very few have life in it. This is what happens with years of agriculture and no restrictions.
Wild Berries

Wild Berries

Located close to the "Land Poisoned" sign were these berries. I don't think they're edible!
Chip Shop

Chip Shop

I can't say the Irish know good cuisine, but this was one of those cute little chip shops near the port. I loved the colors.... and the little pop-up camper van with the bicycles. That was what I was traveling in. We named it Scooby!
Offerings

Offerings

One of my favorite places to visit were cemeteries. I liked trying to find the oldest headstone. These are offerings near a well. I think if you made a wish it might come true - but you had to leave something behind!
Hay

Hay

The tiny roads didn't keep this hay truck from plugging along.
Bird in Window

Bird in Window

I seem to love the look of birds in windows. And typically I find them solo. Why is that?
Time

Time

This was a shot of family history. Old family photos. I love the clock sitting in the middle of the frames. Perhaps that symbolizes that we're here for a limited time? Or perhaps I love the fact that the photos represent some place in time?
Which way do we go?

Which way do we go?

This was normal in Ireland. Come to the fork in the road and view all the signs to somewhere. Look at the top left, Bansha. That's where, if you listen, you might be able to hear the cries of the banshees.
Heasdstone

Heasdstone

Cemeteries seem to have giant headstones. This one was quite big and eerie. They always seem to be outside of the church on the grounds. This one was old, you can see the moss and lichen litter the tombstones next to it!
Roof Garden?

Roof Garden?

I saw this roof and couldn't help but notice the grass growing on top of it. It's so wet in Ireland that grass grows everywhere!
I see dead people

I see dead people

The tombstones that litter the church grounds. I wonder, if at night, you can hear the cries?

Ireland

by Stephanie Vogel

Spent a bit of time traveling around Ireland. There's a lot to see and a lot to enjoy! I took my Canon 5D and Tamron AF28-300mm F/3.5-6.3 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) Macro lens. These are some of the images I loved using that combo.
