This full moon's name is attributed to Native Americans because it marked when corn was supposed to be harvested, and is closest to the autumn equinox.

Delicate Arch photographed at night, following moon set, to capture the Milky Way. The Milky Way is the galaxy that contains our Solar System. Its name "milky" is derived from its appearance as a dim glowing band arching across the night sky in which the naked eye cannot distinguish individual stars.

Moon lite, light painted Delicate Arch has an incredibly graceful shape set above the curving slickrock basin with the La Sal mountains in a cloud bank.

The setting harvest moon, hidden behind Delicate Arch, illuminated the dispersing clouds. The arch was light painted.

Alvin, Sorry that Fairbanks was not weather kind to you. In March, I was there for 14 days and we had Northern Lights all 14 nights. It was just spectacular. One night the clouds broke for only 35 minutes, but it was the most wonderful light show.
